Everyday Cooking with Dr Dean Ornish (low fat stuff but i liked ti b/c the sections were done by season to use more available fresh produce)

Home Cooking with Dave's Mom (that would be Dave Letterman's mom)---trad'l 'Merican fare

The Frugal Gormet Cooks Italian---this one is signed by Jeff Smith and his hottie assistant Craig Wollam---who it turned out Jeff was schtupping in additional to sexually harrassing a couple of other assistants. Hmmm, I wonder if that's worth any money. It was signed in 1993 and Jeff died in '04 I think. Anyway, the recipes and stories are really great but the book isn't doing me any good.

The Great Summer Clean Up

We've got overnight guests coming in a couple of weeks and lots of little and big projects we should be getting started on anyway. Guests are always a great motivator for me, so I'm going to capitalize on that. :) I'll break it down room by room and perhaps post some before and after pics.

Bathroom
~scrape old caulk, clean, re-caulk
~lay new floor tiles
~clean & repaint trim
~hang new shower curtain liner
~hang new curtain

Hallway
~paint doors
~wash walls, touch up paint
~wash floors & trim

Porch
~tidy
~clean glass table
~new chairs?

Basement
~wash floors
~general declutter
~vacuum window sills
~replace light bulbs
~vacuum laundry room

Kitchen
~wash cabinets
~wash fridge
~clean out freezer

It's a lot but I've got a full weekend home alone and no real spending money to speak of, so here we'll be with time and idle hands. And there's lots here the kids can help with. So I'm hoping to get a good bit of this stuff done over the next 3 days. :)
